About us
We are Phil, Pip and Katie Ellery
Tregarthen is a quality barn conversion situated on what was once a working farm, on the edge of the historic village of Talskiddy - two miles from St Columb Major which has a shops/post office and pub, 5 miles from the coastal village of Mawgan Porth and eight miles from the world famous fishing port of Padstow.
The Ellery family have farmed in Talskiddy for over 100 years. Although we no longer farm full time we have some sheep, cattle and ponies that graze on our land. The barn was formally used as a cart shed and stables. After lying empty for several years it was renovated in 2007.
We can offer local knowledge and recommend nearby properties if we are booked or you are a group of friends who wish to holiday close together.
Where does the name Tregarthen come from?
The Cornish name 'Tregarthen' was inspired by a Cornish author called John Coulson Tregarthen who wrote stories based around Cornish wildlife and he lived locally. Tregarthen is also the name of a small village in Cornwall.
We are on hand to give holiday advice and direct you to our many local attractions.
We hope people will enjoy staying at Talskiddy and will want to return again and again and we look forward to seeing all our new visitors.
